Hanes created the Comfort Packages to bring a smile and help spread comfort to fans' social networks in a small, but impactful, way. The free virtual Comfort Package can be sent from the Pink tab on the Hanes page. The Comfort Package is fully customizable with photos, videos, recipes, T-shirt designs, music and messages. Sending a Comfort Package is one of many gestures that can brighten someone's day and help provide support and comfort to a loved one.
"Comfort is more than just physical; it's emotional too," said Sidney Falken, chief branding officer, Hanes brand. "A comfortable sweatshirt or your favorite tee can help you feel better, but we know that memories, music and well wishes from the people who care most can also provide comfort. We are proud to be partnering with NBCF to help raise awareness of breast cancer and support a cause the Hanes consumer cares so deeply about."
The Comfort Package is an extension of the many ways Hanes contributes to breast cancer awareness. As a longtime supporter of breast cancer awareness, Hanes has made cash and in-kind donations totaling $1 million since 2009 and is donating up to $125,000 to NBCF this year. As part of that overall donation, Hanes fans will have an opportunity to make a difference. For each Care Package sent, Hanes will donate $1 up to $25,000.
"We are proud to be partners with Hanes to help raise awareness for such a devastating and widespread disease," said NBCF Founder & CEO Janelle Hail. "The Comfort Package is a fun and innovative way to help spread awareness and share support. We are especially excited that each Comfort Package sent results in an extra donation to our cause."
NBCF is committed to spreading knowledge and fostering hope in the fight against breast cancer. NBCF provides free mammograms for women who could not otherwise afford them and supports early detection research programs in leading medical facilities across the country.
Along with the Comfort Package, the Pink tab on the Hanes Facebook page includes a video of interviews featuring Hanes employees who have been affected by breast cancer and the Words of Comfort Wall where fans can leave thoughts of hope and encouragement to those touched by this terrible disease.
In addition to the Pink tab on Facebook, Hanes is continuing its popular Design A Tee application, where users can design and buy their own tees for breast cancer awareness. Available at HanesPink.com, 10 percent of the retail price from each shirt sold benefits NBCF.
