Hammacher Schlemmer to host "A Night of Giving" benefit with Daymond John, star of ABC's Shark Tank
NEW YORK, Dec. 13, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- On Friday, December 16, Hammacher Schlemmer, the beloved New York retail institution, will be hosting "A Night of Giving", featuring a public appearance by Daymond John, star of ABC's three-time Emmy Award winning show "Shark Tank" and founder/CEO of the FUBU apparel brand.
The event will take place from 6-7 p.m. at Hammacher Schlemmer's landmark Manhattan store where Mr. John will be signing his New York Times best-selling book "The Power of Broke" for those who donate $25 or more. Proceeds from the evening benefit Art Start, the award-winning local non-profit organization that uses creative arts to transform young, at-risk lives.
"As fellow New Yorkers who have embraced innovation for 168 years, we jumped at the opportunity to team up with a forward-thinking entrepreneur like Daymond John," said Hammacher Schlemmer's General Manager Fred Berns. "We're looking forward to a great turn out in support of Art Start and its pioneering work with the youth of our community."
The event is co-sponsored by VP Cabs, the world's leading manufacturer of virtual pinball machines. One of the firm's innovative models will be on display, offering players a choice of more than 60 classic arcade games.
