HAMILTON's George Washington, Actor Christopher Jackson, Comes to Washington D.C. for a Patriotic Performance Under the Fireworks on PBS' A CAPITOL FOURTH
WASHINGTON, June 29, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Christopher Jackson, who stars as George Washington in the Broadway smash hit musical HAMILTON, winner of 11 Tony Awards, is set to perform at PBS' A CAPITOL FOURTH. Jackson made his Broadway debut in the original production of THE LION KING and has since appeared in such Broadway productions as HOLLER IF YA HEAR ME; AFTER MIDNIGHT; THE BRONX BOMBERS and MEMPHIS, to name a few, as well as starring in Lin-Manuel Miranda's IN THE HEIGHTS, for which he won a Drama Desk Award. He has won an Emmy, a Grammy, and most recently received his first Tony award nomination for HAMILTON. He will next star in the new CBS drama, BULL. Jackson will join Smokey Robinson, Kenny Loggins, General Colin L. Powell USA (Ret.), Gavin DeGraw, Amber Riley, Cassadee Pope, Alisan Porter, Jackie Evancho, Yolanda Adams, Sutton Foster, Scott Hamilton, Members of Team USA and the cast of ON YOUR FEET! on stage Monday, July 4th from 8:00 - 9:30 pm ET.
The evening of unforgettable performances will be capped off by an incomparable fireworks extravaganza and broadcast live from the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol on PBS, NPR and around the world on the American Forces Network. And, for the first time ever the broadcast will be live-streamed online on Facebook Live and www.pbs.org/a-capitol-fourth and will also be available as Video on Demand for a limited time only, July 4 to July 18, 2016.
