Hamilton Sundstrand Wins Additional Content on COMAC C919
FARNBOROUGH, England, July 19 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- FARNBOROUGH AIR SHOW - Commercial Aviation Corporation of China, Ltd. (COMAC) has selected another Hamilton Sundstrand business to provide additional content on the new C919 aircraft. Hamilton Sundstrand is a subsidiary of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX).
COMAC selected Hamilton Sundstrand's Ratier-Figeac business to provide the aircraft's pilot controls, which includes side sticks, rudder brake pedals, speed brake control lever, control panel and the Thrust Control Quadrant.
In addition to this award, COMAC previously selected Hamilton Sundstrand's Electric Systems business to provide the C919's electric power generation and distribution systems. Hamilton Sundstrand's Kidde Aerospace & Defense business was also selected to provide the C919's integrated fire and overheat protection systems.
The combined value of these awards is estimated to be worth more than $1.5 billion in revenue over the program's life.

COMAC is the Chinese commercial aircraft manufacturer established in May 2008. The 150-seat class C919 is expected to enter into service in 2016.

Today, Hamilton Sundstrand is a key systems supplier on COMAC's 90-seat ARJ21 regional jet, supplying the electric power system, including the APS2600 Auxiliary Power Unit; the Ram Air Turbine; the high-lift actuation system, which includes flap and slat actuators, drive train, power drive units and controllers; fire protection systems; and the electrical power generation, primary distribution and emergency power system.
