Halogen Expands Executive Team with Two Key Appointments
Karen Williams named Vice President, Product Development; Marc Harrison named Vice President, Corporate Development
OTTAWA, Jan. 12, 2015 /PRNewswire/ - Halogen Software (TSX: HGN) has added two seasoned enterprise software leaders to its executive team. The company has named Karen Williams as Vice President, Product Development, and Marc Harrison as Vice President, Corporate Development — both pivotal roles in supporting Halogen's continued growth.
Karen Williams most recently led a large product development team as Vice President, Development for IBM's Business Analytics, BI and Predictive Analytics offerings. Her 25-year tenure with business intelligence giant Cognos, and subsequently IBM, included leadership positions in product development, customer success, product operations and product marketing groups. Karen will oversee the growing software development and quality teams for Halogen, focused on the rapid delivery of new products, features and enhancements within Halogen's award-winning talent management suite.
"Becoming a part of Halogen's growing success story is a wonderful opportunity," says Karen Williams. "In both the talent management industry and the local technology community, the Halogen team has become synonymous with a brilliant customer experience. I'm really looking forward to working with the talented product development group to advance our offerings and continue to deliver solutions that help our customers grow their talent management programs and get better business results."
Marc Harrison has more than two decades of experience in the software industry focused on corporate development and mergers and acquisitions, most recently as an acquisition and strategic partnership practice leader in IBM's Tivoli business unit in Austin, Texas. Prior to IBM, Marc served as Vice President, Business Development for Think Dynamics and BrightSpark Ventures. With his extensive international business and M&A integration experience, Marc will spearhead the identification of strategic business opportunities, acquisitions, partnerships and alliances to fuel Halogen's growth.
"I'm excited about joining such a well-regarded market leader and talented team at this important next phase of growth for Halogen," says Marc Harrison. "The talent management space is moving fast and presents great opportunities to expand our market reach with more strategic partnerships and complementary solutions. With such a strong foothold, I believe Halogen is poised to capitalize on these opportunities and maximize our growth for the long term."
"We're very pleased to add two experienced software leaders like Karen and Marc to our executive team," says Halogen CEO Paul Loucks. "Halogen's growth is underpinned by strong talent management solutions. We will continue to enhance our current offerings with new features, products and services while adding complementary offerings through partnerships and potential acquisitions."
