Hallowell Center Expands Into San Francisco, California
SAN FRANCISCO, Aug. 20, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Hallowell Center is proud to announce the opening of its first West Coast multidisciplinary facility geared towards helping children and adults diagnosed with ADD and other cognitive and emotional conditions.
Hallowell Center San Francisco is located in the heart of the financial district in downtown San Francisco. The facility employs a "strength-based" model which emphasizes first and foremost the search for what is strong and healthy in a person, then secondarily, what is in need of remediation.
Dr. Edward (Ned) Hallowell, Founder of the Hallowell Centers NYC and Boston and author of 16 books, says, "We are ever so lucky to have top-notch professionals leading our efforts on the West Coast. I know they will help all who come to the Center not merely address their limitations but also identify and, as I like to say, unwrap their gifts."
The office is staffed with highly trained professionals representing years of combined experience. Dr. Shirley Liu is a board-certified child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrist (fluent in Mandarin). Dr. Gabrielle Anderson is a licensed clinical psychologist who has extensive experience working with patients of all ages (fluent in Spanish). In addition, Paula Santa-Donato, LCSW, who is based in New York, will also be available for individual ADHD long-distance coaching. Paula combines her knowledge of business and ADHD with her counseling and coaching skills.
About Hallowell San Francisco
The Hallowell Center, which treats ADD and other cognitive and emotional problems, has distinct advantages not found in other clinical settings:
- The thought leadership and direction of Dr. Ned Hallowell – one of the world's foremost experts on ADD, raising happy children and managing worry – whose "strength-based" approach to treatment yields powerful results
- A team of expert practitioners with in-depth knowledge of all the latest breakthroughs in both traditional and complementary treatments, working together in close collaboration to design and implement customized treatment plans for each patient
The Hallowell Center takes a full 360-degree approach to the diagnosis and treatment of each problem, beginning with a detailed analysis of the symptoms presented. The team of experts then develops a comprehensive, customized treatment plan that may include recommendations for lifestyle changes, environmental modifications, stimulant (or other) medication, counseling, individual or group therapy, and coaching. In some cases, complementary treatments like nutritional counseling, sleep hygiene, or a program of physical exercises for the brain, may also be suggested.
