Hall of Famers Begin Judging Designs for United States Mint Baseball Coin Competition
Public may view semifinalist designs in online gallery at http://batterup.challenge.gov/submissions beginning June 5
WASHINGTON, June 5, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Twenty-four coin designs in the United States Mint's Baseball Coin Design Competition have reached the semifinalist phase of the competition and are now being reviewed by five select judges from the National Baseball Hall of Fame.
The Baseball Coin Design Competition was open to U.S. citizens and permanent residents ages 14 and older from April 11 to May 11. One hundred seventy-eight designs were entered in competition. The winning obverse design will be unveiled in mid-September. The winner of the competition will be awarded $5,000, and the winner's initials will appear on the minted coins.

- Joe Morgan
- Brooks Robinson
- Ozzie Smith
- Don Sutton
- Dave Winfield
WHEN: Wednesday, June 5, 2013
WHERE: Beginning June 5, the public may view the gallery of semifinalist designs at http://batterup.challenge.gov/submissions. The designs will be posted indefinitely.
