SAN DIEGO, Oct. 4, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Famela Ramos announced today the support and endorsement of San Diego Charger Hall of Famer Wes Chandler.
Famela is running for Seat 3 on the Chula Vista Elementary School Board in the upcoming November 6th, 2018 election.
"I am so honored to receive Wes Chandler's support. Mr. Chandler has made tremendous impact on and off the field. In addition to being a Chargers Hall of Famer, he's in the National Football College Hall of Fame, he was also a two time 'Academic All American' at University of Florida. Additionally, he established several youth scholarship funds and ran his own youth foundation," said Famela Ramos. "I plan to leverage the support of this Sports Hero to accomplish the important goal of bringing positive change and reform to the Chula Vista Elementary School District."
Famela is mother of four children, an accomplished researcher with seven peer reviewed publications, and has previously received scholarship support from the Philippine Nurses Association while studying to be a nurse.
"I have been blessed to meet Famela through her work in the Dr. James Veltmeyer Campaign, and subsequently in joint ventures in the biotechnology industry," said Annaliza Dial Young, a Filipino-American Community and Business leader. "Famela represents a unique blend of leadership, compassion, understanding, and unwavering determination in her quest to change the world, starting with her local community."
"Famela's story is the American Dream. She was a Filipino Immigrant who came to the USA with limited resources, established a career and a family for herself, and now is giving back to the Community," said Wes Chandler. "Her passion, commitment and dedication to children is unparalleled. I am strongly aligned with Ms Ramos' goals of: a) establishing a safe and nurturing environment in schools; b) Promoting educational and emotional support, especially for special needs children and c) recruiting and retaining the best teachers and staff."
