Halcyon Incubator Fourth Cohort Tackles New Range of Critical Issues
WASHINGTON, Nov. 19, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The Halcyon Incubator, the nation's premier incubator for early-stage social entrepreneurs, announced its fourth cohort of fellows that address pressing 21st century challenges through innovative social ventures. Entrepreneurs in this class come with new ideas and approaches that tackle critical issues in energy, agriculture, veteran affairs, and public health.
"With every application cycle we see a tremendous wave of talented people," says Kate Goodall, Chief Operating Officer of S&R Foundation. "It's always interesting to see certain trends with novel ways to address social issues and we are proud to be a part of that."
Starting in February, Halcyon fellows will take part in an immersive 18-month program that provides them with the time, space, and resources needed to springboard and scale their early-stage ventures. Fellows receive free housing and office space at the historic Halcyon House in Washington, DC, a $10,000 stipend, a mentor, leadership coaching, complimentary strategic, legal, accounting and PR resources, and access to a deep network of potential funders from a variety of sectors. The Halcyon Incubator does not take equity in the fellows' ventures.
