The ambassador will give his assessment of the recovery efforts in Haiti and the outlook for the country's future in the wake of the Jan. 12 magnitude 7.0 earthquake that leveled Port-au-Prince, the capital, caused widespread destruction in other areas of the country, left upwards of 200,000 dead according to the Haitian government and spurred a massive international outpouring of assistance.
The ambassador's remarks will be followed by a question-and-answer session.
Ambassador Joseph became envoy to the United States in 2005 following a career in journalism that included working as a financial writer for the Wall Street Journal until he resigned in 1984 to co-found with his brother Leo Joseph the Haiti Observateur, a crusading Haiti weekly.
