VIENNA, Va., Jan. 9, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- While the holiday season has come and gone, Hair Cuttery, the largest family-owned and operated chain of hair salons in the country, is upholding the spirit of giving. Since 1999, the Share-A-Haircut program has donated more than 2.01 million free haircut certificates valued at nearly $33 million. The program kicks off its 18th year in February 2017 with haircuts for the homeless on Monday and Tuesday, Feb. 6-7.
For every haircut purchased on Feb. 6 and Feb. 7, a free haircut certificate will be donated back to a homeless adult or child in the community of one of Hair Cuttery's nearly 900 salons. To distribute the certificates to those in need, Hair Cuttery is partnering with local shelters and community organizations. This February alone, Hair Cuttery hopes to reach thousands of homeless people in the neighborhoods it serves.
"It is an incredible privilege to be launching the 18th year of our Share-A-Haircut campaign this February," said Dennis Ratner, Founder and CEO of Hair Cuttery. "This is a cause that every community can rally behind and help bring the simple pleasure of a haircut to those less fortunate."
Hair Cuttery has an established history of charitable giving, supporting a range of local and national causes: St. Baldrick's Foundation, American Red Cross, American Cancer Society, Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, OneOrlando, Girls on the Run and The National Network to End Domestic Violence.
