Haier Spots An Emerging American AC Trend
Manufacturer Sees Mini-split Adoption in Temperate US Regions
NEW YORK, July 24, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Haier America data shows the mini-split air conditioning trend crossing the pond. Many U.S. consumers may not be familiar with this ductless air conditioner. However, Haier shows a great understanding of what some European and Asian residents have known for some time. Mini-split ACs conserve energy and are less disruptive in terms of installation than ducted systems.
Mini-splits cool/heat zones that have their own thermostat, conditioning only the rooms that need to be cooled/heated. Contractors and remodelers are finding this to be growing in popularity in northeastern coastal markets, brownstone communities and pockets of the Northwest.
Ductless mini-split cooling systems conserve energy by delivering air directly to different zones, rather than routing it through ducts. Increasingly, remodeling contractors are placing ductless ACs where worn electric units in older homes or buildings are either not available or difficult to install. Haier bases this on the specific housing stock the brand is seeing impacted based on its mini-split sales.
"Currently, we are seeing a significant number of sales along the Eastern Seaboard and northwest," said Yi Hu, Haier AC Expert. "Our contract channel is calling for this solution which is a big hit in our European and Asian markets."
An important fact for many end customers to consider is that duct leaks can account for up to 30 percent of energy loss in a home. Because so many overseas homes are older and will not be remodeled due to city codes or historic classifications, mini-splits have been accepted as a great solution.
Many other advantages are associated with ductless mini-split air conditioners.
No Need For Expensive Rebuilding or Retrofitting
Ductless mini-split air conditioners can be installed in nearly any room. Perfect for remodeling or new additions to the home, the ductless AC installation is straightforward and offers interior design flexibility. Haier's mini-split AC's have thin, sleek and space saving designs.
Multi-zone Comfort and Control
Rather than having the traditional one thermostat to cool or heat the house, ductless air conditioner gives residents control over each individual zone to individual desired temperature set point. Additionally, most Haier's ductless products offer intelligent airflow, pushing air down in heating and up in cooling to create an even temperature distribution across the room.
Quieter Operation
Every Haier mini-split air conditioner uses DC inverter technology. The inverter controls the compressor motor speed by eliminating the start and stop phases, making the compressor run more easily. In addition to reducing energy use, this technology creates quieter compressor, quieter fan meaning less noise in you-- and your neighbor. Haier ductless products offer a quiet working and sleeping environment down to 22dB(A).
