On September 19, 2018, Copart and management reported disappointing Q4 2018 results and blamed the results in part on abnormal costs of $79.9 million incurred as a result of Hurricane Harvey.
This news drove the price of Copart shares down $8.59, or over 13%, to close at $55.58 that day.
"We're focused on investors' losses, whether the Harvey-related costs were incurred in prior quarters, whether these and other statements misled investors, and the timing of certain insider sales," said Hagens Berman partner Reed Kathrein.
Whistleblowers: Persons with non-public information regarding Copart should consider their options to help in the investigation or take advantage of the SEC Whistleblower program. Under the new program, whistleblowers who provide original information may receive rewards totaling up to 30 percent of any successful recovery made by the SEC. For more information, call Reed Kathrein at 510-725-3000 or email [email protected].
