On January 23, 2019, a research activist firm published a lengthy bearish report on Amdocs. Among other things, the firm concluded "[w]e believe that DOX has engineered superficial top and bottom-line growth alongside unusually stable margins through opaque M&A, aggressive percentage-of-completion accounting, software cost capitalization, and repeated one-off net tax benefits."
This news drove the price of Amdocs shares down as much as $7.87, or about 13%, during intraday trading on January 23, 2019.
"We're focused on investors' losses, whether Amdocs' historical financial statements require correction, and whether the activist firm's conclusions are correct," said Hagens Berman partner Reed Kathrein.
Whistleblowers: Persons with non-public information regarding Amdocs should consider their options to help in the investigation or take advantage of the SEC Whistleblower program. Under the new program, whistleblowers who provide original information may receive rewards totaling up to 30 percent of any successful recovery made by the SEC.
