LOS ANGELES, Dec. 3, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Koreatown Plaza and The Plaza Market announced that The Plaza Market grocery store at Koreatown Plaza will be sold to H-Mart, which plans to convert the location into a flagship H-Mart grocery store. Myung Kil Yang, The Plaza Market's CEO, thanked the Korean American community for its support of The Plaza Market over the past three decades. The Plaza Market had been known in the community as a consistent provider of the freshest produce and meats/seafood. The Plaza Market's last day of business will be January 31, 2019, and H-Mart will open on February 1, 2019.
H-Mart, which has been in business for more than 36 years, is the premiere Asian-American supermarket chain in the U.S. Currently, H-Mart has more than 70 locations in the U.S. and Canada. "I look forward to welcoming H-Mart to Koreatown Plaza," said Joong-Nam Yang, the CEO of Koreatown Plaza. "H-Mart's reputation for offering high-quality produce, meat, and seafood is unsurpassed, and its broad appeal to those outside the Asian-American community will complement Koreatown Plaza's position as the preeminent shopping and dining destination in Koreatown."
