Gurnick Academy Offers an Associate of Science Degree in Ultrasound Technology

SAN MATEO, Calif., Feb. 13, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- In January 2015 Gurnick Academy received an approval from the Accrediting Bureau for Health Education Schools (ABHES) for the Associate of Science degree in Ultrasound Technology. Previously, Gurnick Academy offered a diploma in the Ultrasound Technology program which required an AS degree in allied health to enter the program. The new ultrasound AS degree allows interested individuals without a degree to apply.

This AS degree will open the door for individuals who are interested in pursuing this exciting and growing career without the worries of needing an allied health associates degree or a bachelor's degree," said Claudia Von Zamory, the Ultrasound Technology Program Director of Gurnick Academy.

The length of the AS degree in Ultrasound Technology is two years. Currently the program is offered at the San Mateo Campus only. The next program start date is the 6^th of July, 2015.

The program is designed to prepare students for entry-level employment after graduation as a diagnostic medical sonographer with specializations in Abdominal and Small Parts, Obstetrics and Gynecology, and Vascular Sonography. One of the Program Goals is to prepare students to pass the ARDMS, ARRT(S) and RVT certification exam upon graduation.
