Gurnick Academy Fresno Campus Offers AS Degree in Ultrasound Technology

FRESNO, Calif., March 11, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- In February 2015 Gurnick Academy of Medical Arts, Fresno Campus received an approval from the Accrediting Bureau for Health Education Schools (ABHES) for the Associate of Science degree in Ultrasound Technology. Previously, Gurnick  Academy offered the Ultrasound Technology program at the San Mateo location only.

"This opens the door for residents of the Fresno area to have the opportunity to pursue a career in diagnostic medical Sonography,"  said Claudia Von Zamory, the Ultrasound Technology Program Director of Gurnick Academy.

The start date for the program is July 7, 2015. Our Ultrasound Technology program prepares our students for entry-level employment after their graduation as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer with specialization in general sonography (Abdominal and Small Parts, Obstetrics and Gynecology and Vascular Sonography). Graduates will be qualified to work in hospitals, imaging centers, physicians' offices, or clinics. One of the program goals is to prepare students to pass the ARDMS, ARRT(S) and RVT certification exam upon graduation.

The Associate of Science in Ultrasound Technology Program is recognized by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
