WASHINGTON, March 19, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Guidehouse, a leading provider of management consulting services, announced today that the firm is one of seven companies participating in the United States Department of Defense (DOD) Defense-Industry Talent Exchange Pilot Program.
As part of this initiative, Guidehouse is hosting a United States Marine Corps (USMC) government civilian employee. In exchange, a manager at the firm started a six-month tour with the United States Army's Deputy for Acquisition and Systems Management (DASM).
Launched on January 7, 2019, the acquisition-focused pilot program enables 13 DOD and private sector participants to gain a better understanding of each other's business operations and share innovative best practices.
"We are proud to be a part of this exciting initiative that brings together a greater understanding of business operations between military and commercial sectors," said Scott McIntyre, Chief Executive Officer of Guidehouse. "Empowering and learning from one another will foster innovation and growth for everyone involved."
"This pilot program implements Acting Secretary of Defense Patrick M. Shanahan's July 2018 guidance on the use of a new public-private talent exchange authority provided by Congress, harnessing the lessons learned from this pilot program will inform further expansion of this and future opportunities across DOD," said José M. Gonzalez, Executive Director, Human Capital Initiatives for the DOD.
