Guggenheim Securities Hires Veteran Analyst Michael Morris to Lead Its Media Research Effort

NEW YORK, Sept. 18, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Guggenheim Securities, the investment banking and capital markets division of Guggenheim Partners, today announced the hiring of veteran media analyst Michael Morris as a Managing Director. Mr. Morris will join Guggenheim's equity research team with chief responsibility for coverage of the media sector.

Mr. Morris joins Guggenheim from Davenport and Company, where he was Head of Institutional Equities, Director of Research, and Senior Media and Entertainment Analyst.  Prior to joining Davenport in 2010, Mr. Morris was a Director and Senior Equity Research Analyst covering the media industry at UBS in New York City.  In 2012, Mr. Morris was recognized as the #3 Media Industry Stock Picker by Thompson/Reuters StarMine, and was named "Best Up and Comer" covering Entertainment by Institutional Investor magazine on its 2008 and 2009 All-America Research Teams. 

Mr. Morris earned his BBA from the College of William and Mary and MBA from the Stern School of Business at New York University.
