Guadalajarans Welcome Second Johnny Rockets Restaurant, in Ciudadela Complex
Classic all-American dining concept continues growth in Central Mexico
LAKE FOREST, Calif., Oct. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Johnny Rockets, known as the Home of the Original Hamburger, announced its newest international location at the new Ciudadela shopping center in Guadalajara, Mexico. The timeless Americana restaurant, which officially opened on Friday, Sept. 24, is the second Johnny Rockets opened by franchise partners Juan Carlos Camarena and Jose Manuel Villanueva, in the past year.
"Springing from the success of our other Johnny Rockets location, in Guadalajara, we hope to continue the momentum in a new community," said franchise owner Jose Manuel Villanueva. "By joining other lifestyle-focused businesses, like popular Cinepolis theaters, the casino and anchor stores Best Buy and Wal-Mart, at Ciudadela; we see the surrounding neighborhoods really embracing the new entertainment complex and believe it is ideal for our unique fun-focused concept."
Johnny Rockets' new Ciudadela location is a full-service 2,150 square-foot, two-story restaurant that employs 55 employees. The comfortable and authentic decor offers a timeless all-American dining concept, unlike other restaurants in the region. Regular hours are 11 a.m.–11 p.m., serving Johnny Rockets' great-tasting menu of signature classics like hamburgers, hand-dipped shakes and American Fries. The staff also dances to popular songs from the past six decades, while they twirl straws and serve ketchup with a smile.
"The Johnny Rockets brand is still relatively new to the Mexican market and is receiving a warm welcome by both tourists and locals, in Guadalajara," stated Steve Devine, senior vice president of international development for Johnny Rockets. "The trends in this region are in line with what we've seen globally. No matter what the location or culture, guests appreciate and keep coming back for our great service and relevant concept, which embodies classic food, friendliness and good times."
The franchise partners, Mexican entrepreneurs Juan Carlos Camarena and Jose Manuel Villanueva opened their first Johnny Rockets location in Zapopan, Jalisco in early 2010, approximately 10 miles from Ciudadela. Since Johnny Rockets' inaugural Mexican opening in Mexico City in 1993, the international restaurant chain has continued to develop with locations in airports and coastal resort destinations and has several openings planned throughout Mexico, within the next two years.
