GTAA Announces that Brian Gabel, CFO, Accepts Executive Position at the Canadian Accountability Board
TORONTO, Jan. 20, 2014 /CNW/ - Howard Eng, President and CEO of the Greater Toronto Airports Authority (GTAA) announced today that Brian Gabel, the GTAA's Vice President and Chief Financial Officer has provided notice of resignation effective March 31, 2014. Mr. Gabel will assume the position of Vice President, Stakeholder Engagement, at the Canadian Public Accountability Board, Canada's auditor regulator.
"When Brian shared this news with me, it was clear that this is an incredible opportunity for him. Brian's contributions to the GTAA's sound fiscal management and financial reporting, and its commitment to reducing costs and driving operational efficiencies have been considerable," said Mr. Eng. "We are appreciative of his leadership in these areas. We will now focus on the task at hand of finding Brian's successor."
The GTAA is initiating the process of searching for a new Chief Financial Officer. With the assistance of an executive recruitment firm a search will be undertaken for the most qualified candidate whose financial knowledge and leadership skills will best serve the GTAA.
The GTAA is the operator of Toronto Pearson International Airport, the largest airport in Canada, the second largest airport in North American international traffic (international and transborder) and one of the largest airports in North America in terms of total passenger and air cargo traffic.
