GS1 US Now Accepting Speaker Proposals for GS1 Connect 2019
Conference Offers New Track Focused on Innovative Technology
LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J., Oct. 3, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- GS1 US® is now accepting applications from industry leaders interested in presenting at GS1 Connect® 2019, the annual conference and exhibition that brings together supply chain, technology, and e-commerce professionals. The event's theme, "Elevate," reflects the opportunity for attendees to boost their knowledge, their business, and their industry. GS1 Connect 2019 will be held June 19-21, 2019 at the Gaylord Rockies in Denver, Colorado. Applicants may submit their ideas via the GS1 US online portal through December 6, 2018.
For the first time, GS1 US will accept proposals for a new Innovation Track, where attendees can explore the intersection of GS1 Standards and emerging technology, and embrace disruptive ideas that could soon have an impact on their industries and business processes. Topics of particular interest in this track include: image recognition and sensor technologies; conversational commerce; artificial Intelligence (AI) and machine learning; virtual and augmented reality (VR and AR); robotic process automation; digital disruption; and Internet of Things (IoT).
In addition, GS1 US is seeking industry leaders for presentations in the conference's six additional tracks: Grocery, Retail, Healthcare, Foodservice, Standards & Solutions, and the Tech Track, which offers solution providers an opportunity to showcase their products and services. Presentations should describe how GS1 Standards were leveraged to solve a business process challenge or to manage change in one of the following areas: data quality and management; e-commerce and unified commerce; digital convergence; inventory management; product and location identification; product information and content acquisition; traceability and safety; and trading partner collaboration. Retailers, distributors, and wholesalers may additionally submit ideas for "How to Do Business With…" sessions, one of the most popular GS1 Connect features known for providing exclusive advice on successful trading partner relationships.
All applications will be evaluated based on relevance and usefulness of the topic to GS1 Standards users and conference attendees. Applicants may choose between 30-minute and 60-minute session formats, depending on their presentation topic and number of speakers proposed.
"Elevate is more than just a theme, it's a call to action. We are seeking presenters that exemplify best practices to help attendees meet new business opportunities," said Siobhan O'Bara, senior vice president of industry engagement and services. "While we evolve to provide new features such as the Innovation Track, we look forward to continuing the timely industry discussion and education that attendees have always valued."
Each year, GS1 Connect is attended by more than 1,200 industry professionals seeking to exchange ideas, learn from real world GS1 Standards implementation examples, and add value to their businesses. The conference and exhibition are geared toward executives, directors, and managers in customer service/relations, electronic data interchange (EDI), finance, information technology (IT), e-commerce, product management and data management, materials handling, operations, packaging, pharmacy, quality/safety/compliance, supply chain management, transportation/logistics, and related innovation functions.
