Myrtle Waves
Myrtle Waves Water Park is celebrating its 30th anniversary season with various events and special promotions, including the opening of a brand new slide, "The Rockin Ray." The Rockin Ray is an extreme water slide experience standing 39-feet, 8-inches tall. The Rockin Ray, set to open in June, is the first new slide to open since Arooba Tooba at the park in 2008.
WonderWorks Forensic Science Exhibit
WonderWorks opened its brand new forensic science exhibit in late May. The attraction provides educational entertainment for all ages, and allows families, schools, and visitors passing through to experience the real work of a forensic scientist in the following three areas: fingerprint identification, 3D Facial reconstruction, and facial recognition.

Summer Nights at Broadway at the Beach
Broadway at the Beach, South Carolina's largest festival entertainment complex, will begin its annual Summer Nights entertainment series on June 1 through Aug. 31. Returning this season are singer/songwriter Maddie Hunt, a native of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and the highly-energetic Bryan Dangerous, with his family-friendly, interactive comedy show. Joining the entertainment lineup this year is Nick Pike, a juggler, comedian and unicyclist from England who made it to the semi-finals on "America's Got Talent," and Shelley Sasser, a student at Dino Capone's School of Rock.
The Calvin Gilmore Theater – Gloria Gaynor
Grammy Award winner Gloria Gaynor will appear at The Calvin Gilmore Theater on Sunday, August 30 for a one-night-only, exclusive concert. In addition to her powerhouse show, Gloria will add a local flair by inviting the Coastal Inspirational Ambassadors Gospel Choir (CIA) of Coastal Carolina University and the Socastee Singers each to perform in one special number with her.
The Calvin Gilmore Theater – Jungle Jack Hanna
America's most beloved animal expert, Jack Hanna, will bring his three-time Emmy Award-winning television series to the live stage with Into the Wild Live! at The Calvin Gilmore Theater on June 14, 2015. In the live show, Jungle Jack will take the audience into the wild with a spectacular array of fifteen incredible animals. Jack will also share humorous stories and amazing footage from his adventures all around the world from Africa, to the Amazon, to Antarctica and beyond. Fans can expect to see animals such as a baby cheetah, kangaroo, baby tiger, two-toed sloth, penguin and more.

Barefoot Landing SummerFest
Barefoot Landing's annual SummerFest! will begin on June 1 and last through Aug. 29. Entertainment includes a new line-up of local musicians, as well as some returning favorites, including Nick Pike, a semi-finalist from "America's Got Talent." Families will also be able to enjoy Barefoot Landing's fireworks shows on Mondays at 10:15 p.m

Holiday Inn Club Vacations
Construction began on a new Holiday Inn Club Vacations and is scheduled to open in spring 2016. The purpose-built building will feature eight two-bedroom, 12 three-bedroom and seven four-bedroom spacious and elegantly appointed "Signature Collection" villas. Alongside this project, several enhanced amenities will be added to the resort including a 2,400-square-foot pool, lazy river, interactive water features and a two-flume waterslide. Other additions include two playgrounds, a multi-sports court, fire pit and several picnic spaces with gas grills.
Homewood Suites Oceanfront Resort & Conference Center
The new Homewood Suites Oceanfront Resort & Conference Center is planned at 1805 S. Ocean Blvd., the first and only Homewood Suites in the 399 chain that is an oceanfront property. The $25 million Homewood hotel is expected to open during the spring 2017. The Homewood will share pools and other amenities with the Hampton Inn Oceanfront next door and will be the one and only, dually branded oceanfront resort hotel for the Hilton in the world. The property will have 100 suites including a mix of two bedroom, one bedroom and studios all with kitchens and private balconies. Homewood is also building a 300-seat conference center, three pools, a fire pit, fitness center, a Pilates-aerobics room for women only, an on-site chapel, and a bistro serving sandwiches and snacks. Barefoot Landing
Several new merchants are coming to Barefoot Landing this season, including Earthbound Trading Company, A Stuffed Animal Store, Carolina Hat Company, Tara Grinna Swimwear, and Barefoot Amusements, which will feature five family-style rides and games. In addition to new merchants joining Barefoot Landing, renovations or remodeling have been completed at Tassa Cabana, Designer Sunglasses, Sunglass Hut, Johnny Rockets, Bully's Pub and Grill, and Smokin' Hot Grill & BBQ.
