GrowLife, Inc. Opens Flagship Canadian Retail Location as Federally Regulated Market Rapidly Expands
Company Launches New Flagship Retail Store in Calgary, Alberta, to Continue Capitalizing on Emerging Federally Regulated Cannabis Market
KIRKLAND, Wash., Nov. 30, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- GrowLife, Inc. (PHOT), one of the nation's most recognized indoor cultivation product and service providers, today announced that the Company has opened a new retail location in Canada in order to meet the demands of the growing Canadian cannabis cultivation market.
The store, which is located at 2323 32nd Ave #113 in Calgary, Alberta, will offer Growlife's full suite of products for its hydroponic and organic growing customers of all sizes. In addition to its traditional retail product offering, Growlife will staff the location with industry experts who will educate and train its customers on efficient growing and cultivation practices. This helps the Company achieve its mission of helping its customers become successful growers.
The Company has continued expanding its market share in Canada over recent months as the regulated cannabis industry develops and plans on reaching new private and professional growers in the country as the regulatory environment shifts toward legalization.
The number of medical marijuana patients in the country has tripled in the past year and as of July 2018, all Canadians 19 years of age and over will be legally allowed to grow up to four plants in the privacy of their homes. This has resulted in a 20% increase in the number of licensed medical marijuana producers in the country. Growlife's product offering is designed to meet the needs of cultivators of any size, from "home grows" to commercially licensed producers offering services such as equipment fulfillment, room design, educational consulting and regulatory compliance support.
"We are extremely excited to reach this milestone in our international expansion efforts into Canada," said Growlife CEO Marco Hegyi. "We have been watching the Canadian market closely and see a huge potential as the regulatory framework for cannabis changes. We will not only be able to service the smaller home grower, but also give new and established licensed producers the support they need to flourish by reducing costs while maintaining quality."
Deloitte estimates the Canadian market has a base retail value between $4.9 billion-$8.7 billion, which would rival the size of the $5 billion Canadian spirits market.
