John Harris will focus on delivering winning, consumer-focused products
SEATTLE, Dec. 8, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Group Health has hired John Harris as Vice president, Line of Business and Product Management, a new role in the organization's Health Plan Division. Harris' focus will be on managing our lines of business for sustainable growth, and on product management and development.
"John's insight and experience will help us build Group Health strengths into products consumers want across both group and consumer lines of business," said Bob O'Brien, Executive Vice President of the Health Plan Division at Group Health. "I'm confident that John will leverage our strengths into an exciting portfolio of offerings for public, individual consumers and group purchasers."
Harris comes to Group Health from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota, where he served as Director of Product Management, supporting all product lines in the state's leading health plan (2.6 million members). He brings expertise in rapid product development, which will help extend Group Health's product portfolio in the increasingly competitive consumer and retail health care market.
"Group Health has a terrific reputation across the country for providing the highest quality care and coverage," Harris said. "I'm excited to build more products that serve and grow our membership."
Prior to his tenure with BCBS Minnesota, John distinguished himself in several marketing, brand and product management roles with companies including United Health Group, General Mills and Best Buy.
Harris will work closely with vice president of sales and account management Debbie Huntington on business performance with large group purchasers.
