Ground Labs to Showcase Cardholder Data Discovery for the 2014 PCI Security Standards Council Community Meeting in North America
ORLANDO, Fla., Sept. 2, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Over 1,400 global payment industry stakeholders will congregate next week for the eighth annual PCI Security Standards Council (SSC) Community Meeting in North America. Ground Labs, a prominent developer of cardholder data discovery software for the payment card industry, will be sponsoring the event held in Orlando, Florida, as well as participating in the vendor showcase.
The PCI SSC Community Meetings provides an opportunity for SSC members to learn, share knowledge and network with the largest community dedicated to payment security, paying special attention to the implementation and further improvement of the PCI Data Security Standards (PCI DSS).
With offices located across 3 continents, Ground Labs is a frequent supporter of the Community Meeting series, having routinely attended the gatherings for the last 3 years running. The company's flagship products, Card Recon, Data Recon and Enterprise Recon, identify data storage risks on thousands of computer systems worldwide, helping companies prevent security breaches that result in the theft of customers' credit and debit card numbers.
"The advent of the PCI DSS 3.0 means new and more effective ways to ensure sensitive cardholder data is secured," said Stephen Cavey, Director of Corporate Development for Ground Labs. "The Community Meetings are an ideal venue to interact with many of our global partners and enterprise merchant customers, providing the opportunity for us to further hone our products in tandem with the global standards to benefit the entire industry."
Card Recon, Data Recon and Enterprise Recon assist organisations in thoroughly identifying rogue cardholder data in all types of data storage, including emails, databases, documents and various other locations. This is a critical step towards the achievement of PCI DSS compliance, which requires organisations to safeguard the sensitive cardholder data of their customers and personnel.
The vendor showcase will present an opportunity for participants to interact with a broad variety of vendors servicing the payment card industry, and learn about their important work in the field of cardholder data security. As a participant of the vendor showcase, Ground Labs will provide live demonstrations of its Card Recon software for Qualified Security Assessors and of its Enterprise Recon software for large merchant organisations.
The Ground Labs North American team will be providing pre-release demonstrations of Enterprise Recon 2.0 throughout the event. The new build of Enterprise Recon will feature not only an upgraded GUI, but an enhanced set of data discovery features driven by customer feedback and the changes brought on by the PCI DSS 3.0.
The 2014 North American Community Meeting will be held September 9-11 at the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort in Orlando, Florida. A similar European Community Meeting will be held October 7-9 in Berlin, Germany, as well as an Asian-Pacific leg which will be held November 18-19 in Sydney, Australia. Ground Labs will sponsor all of these events. Additional information about the 2012 PCI SCC Community Meetings is available online at http://community.pcisecuritystandards.org/2014/
