Groom Law Group Expands its Government Experience and Capabilities: Five Attorneys Join the Firm

WASHINGTON, June 20, 2012 /PRNewswire/ --  Groom Law Group, Chartered, a Washington, DC law firm that focuses exclusively on employee benefits matters that was recently recognized with the Chambers USA Award for Excellence in Employee Benefits & Executive Compensation, announced that Mike Maricco, Michael Del Conte and three other attorneys have joined the firm. 

Prior to joining Groom, Mike Maricco spent six years as an attorney in the Office of Chief Counsel at the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC).  In his role, Maricco successfully navigated ERISA fiduciary breach cases and participated in major bankruptcy cases affecting the agency.  Michael Del Conte worked for four years in the Employee Benefits Security Administration of the DOL, where he served as the subject matter expert on the participant fee disclosure regulations.

Maricco and Del Conte join the firm's extensive list of attorneys with government experience, including at key federal agencies that regulate benefit plans.  John McGuiness, Groom's Executive Principal, commented that "this experience gives our clients unique insight into the legislative and regulatory processes that affect them."
