"Independence from Hunger demonstrates how committed our team of independent owners and operators are to their local communities," said Eric Lindberg, Co-CEO, Grocery Outlet Inc. "We are moved by the generosity of our community of independent operators and their customers, and honored to be able to help people who may be challenged to find their next meal."
During the month of July, a time when food banks experience the greatest need and kids aren't getting school-supplied meals, Grocery Outlet held its third annual Independence from Hunger food drive. Each Grocery Outlet store selected at least one local food assistance agency in their hometown as beneficiary of the food drive. To help increase awareness, drive donations and participation, Grocery Outlet stores hosted an array of events from educational seminars about local food assistance agencies to family-friendly festivals.
