GRI Expands SOW Practice, Tapping Industry Expert to Lead the Division
Industry veteran Bob Hicks is already at work establishing the company's new, robust program that will focus on strategic operations and bring greater value.
DETROIT, Oct. 3, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- GRI, the largest independent extended workforce solutions provider, is expanding its statement of work (SOW) program, now led by one of the non-employee labor industry's most experienced practitioners. Bob Hicks, formerly of Shell Oil and Lodgent Consulting, now serves as GRI's Vice President of SOW Programs.
"We've been investigating ways to strengthen our SOW solutions offering, and to be able to expand the program under Bob's unmatched leadership is the best possible outcome," said Art Knapp, GRI's president. The industry veterans have a long professional relationship that recently shifted from a consulting gig to a more permanent situation. "After Bob left Shell, we established a consulting partnership that led us to the realization we could change the industry."
Bob spent nearly two decades at Shell Oil, where his initial responsibility was managing the procurement of software and technology non-employee labor. By his departure in 2016, Bob was responsible for the oil giant's multi-billion-dollar procurement strategies for IT consulting, non-employee labor, and VMS. His consulting firm, Lodgent, provided consulting services to enterprises, staffing agencies, and MSP providers to help them improve program operations and increase business.
The move to GRI felt like a natural next step. "I see this as an opportunity to build a robust market-leading SOW practice that spans the tactical and strategic in ways that will give companies options to create value quickly as they take advantage of our best practices. No one has really found a way to crack the SOW code, so this is our opportunity to move the needle forward," Bob said.
Now, GRI is poised to shift the marketplace, giving its clients the opportunity to bring their entire SOW portfolios under management, meeting present needs while focusing on growth. "Until now, no one in the industry has capitalized on this in a truly transformational way," Art said. "Bob is the right person to lead this, and we're thrilled to follow his direction. He listens intently to his clients, incorporating their insight into his individualized solution designs. With him at the helm, we know GRI will make an impact."
