Greyhound Temporarily Suspends All Service In Florida Due To Hurricane Matthew
DALLAS, Oct. 6, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Greyhound today announced it will temporarily close all Florida locations beginning at 5 p.m. EDT today, Oct. 6. The following major routes closed at noon EDT today, Oct. 6: Orlando to Miami, Miami to Fort Myers, Miami to Key West and Jacksonville to Miami via Fort Pierce due to Hurricane Matthew.
"Because safety is the cornerstone of our business, we will not operate our service when severe weather strikes," said Evan Burak, regional vice president, Greyhound Lines, Inc. "Greyhound is continuously monitoring the National Weather Service reports to assess the latest conditions and to determine when and where it is safe to travel."
The following terminals are closed as of noon EDT today, Oct. 6:
- Melbourne, FL
- Fort Pierce, FL
- West Palm Beach, FL
- Fort Lauderdale, FL
- Miami, FL
- Key West, FL
The following terminals will close at 5 p.m. EDT today, Oct. 6:
- Daytona Beach, FL
- Fort Myers, FL
- Gainesville, FL
- Jacksonville, FL
- Ocala, FL
- Orlando, FL
- St. Petersburg, FL
- Tampa, FL
- Myrtle Beach, SC
- Charleston, SC
- Savannah, GA
- Florence, SC
- Sumter, SC
The Tallahassee terminal will remain open but will only operate westbound schedules. The terminals in Charlotte, NC, and Fayetteville, NC will also remain open but with limited service, as all southbound service from these locations into Florida have been cancelled.

If a customer's schedule is affected, they may bring their tickets to the terminal after it reopens so Greyhound can rebook or refund their tickets at no charge.
