Greyhound Expands Service From Boston
Largest intercity bus company in the Northeast nearly doubles its daily departures and adds new non-stop service to New York's George Washington Bridge Bus Station
DALLAS, Sept. 27, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Greyhound, the largest provider of intercity bus transportation in North America, today announced it is expanding operations from the South Station Transportation Center in Boston. Located at 700 Atlantic Ave., Greyhound is adding more Express departures to Worcester, Mass.; Springfield, Mass.; Hartford, Conn. and New York's Port Authority Bus Terminal, as well as creating a new non-stop route to New York's George Washington Bridge Bus Station. The expansion nearly doubles the number of daily departures from South Station that Greyhound operates.
"We are thrilled to offer our Boston customers with new and more frequent Express offerings," said Andy Kaplinsky, chief commercial officer, Greyhound Lines, Inc. "We understand how important public transportation is to the Boston community and we are happy to provide more choices for them to travel and take advantage of our low fares, Express routes and best-in-class bus service."
The George Washington Bridge Bus Station, located in the Washington Heights neighborhood of New York, is a convenient option for Boston customers who wish to travel to New York, but do not need to go into downtown Manhattan. The newly renovated station features easy access to the subway system, as well as several first-class national and local retail and services for customers and the surrounding community. When booking on Greyhound.com to this location, customers simply choose New York GW Bridge as their destination.
As the low-cost original, Greyhound will continue to deliver everyday low prices on these routes like elsewhere across the nation. Customers now also have access to E-Ticketing, where they can quickly and easily purchase tickets from Greyhound.com and board the bus with just a flash of their mobile phones.
While on board, riders will travel in comfort on modern buses with free Wi-Fi, power outlets, reclining leather seats and extra legroom. In addition, the company is adding new buses in the Northeast, which will be equipped with on-board entertainment systems that enable customers to enjoy movies and television shows, play games, surf the Web, and read the latest news – all completely free and all from their own Wi-Fi enabled devices including laptops, tablets or smartphones.
Customers also will have access to Greyhound Package Express, Greyhound's low-cost shipping service. Travelers can purchase tickets online at Greyhound.com or the mobile app, over the phone at 1-800-231-2222 or at their local station.
