DALLAS, Sept. 20, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Greyhound, the largest provider of intercity bus transportation in North America, today announced it will begin service at the newly renovated George Washington Bridge Bus Station on Sept. 27. Located at 4211 Broadway in Manhattan, customers in Washington Heights and surrounding communities now have a more convenient option for safe, reliable and non-stop travel at the lowest fares. This will be Greyhound's second location in Manhattan, with its primary operations still housed at the New York Port Authority Bus Terminal.
"We are thrilled to be moving into this newly renovated station and providing riders in the Washington Heights community our best-in-class service," said Bill Blankenship, chief operating officer, Greyhound Lines, Inc. "We understand public transportation is important to this city, as New Yorkers are extremely mobile and travel frequently. We look forward to expanding our service in New York and offering an extraordinary travel experience at our new, convenient location."
From the George Washington Bridge Bus Station, Greyhound will offer 10 daily schedules through the week with six additional schedules provided on the weekend, including non-stop service to cities such as Boston, Washington, D.C. and Philadelphia, ultimately providing access to the company's extensive network of 3,800 destinations.
The new station also will feature several first-class national and local retail shops and services for customers and the surrounding community. While on board, riders will travel in comfort on modern buses with free Wi-Fi, power outlets, reclining leather seats and extra legroom. In addition, the company is adding new buses in the Northeast, which will be equipped with on-board entertainment systems that enable customers to enjoy movies and television shows, play games, surf the Web, and read the latest news – all completely free and all from their own Wi-Fi enabled devices including laptops, tablets or smartphones.
