Grey Presents Iggy Pop At Cannes In 10th Annual Music Legends Seminar
NEW YORK, June 17, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Grey, the global advertising company, announced that its 10th Annual Legends of Music Seminar will feature Iggy Pop, the godfather of punk. The seminar will take place at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity on Wednesday, June 22nd, 2016 at 3pm Cannes time at the Lumiere Theatre at the Palais des Festivals.
Iggy Pop will be interviewed by Nils Leonard, Chairman and Chief Creative Officer of Grey London, about his creative journey. Leonard has created a 90-second film of Iggy Pop performing a raw, expressive read of Dylan Thomas' seminal poem "Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night" as a prequel to the event. In a year that has seen countless music legends fall, the film is what Leonard calls "A salute to the most alive man I know." It is a provocation on age and the world's current obsession with dead heroes.
Widely acknowledged as one of the most dynamic stage performers of all time, Iggy Pop pre-figured both '70s punk and '90s grunge and has built a legendary career filled with both critical acclaim and fanatic cult success.
In 2010, Iggy and the Stooges were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
