Fisher, President & Chief Investment Officer of independent investment management firm Gerstein Fisher and founder of the Gerstein Fisher Research Center, has been tapped to participate in the Academy of Behavioral Finance & Economics' 2012 Annual Meeting, which will take place in New York City on the campus of the Polytechnic Institute of New York University (NYU-Poly) from September 18-21.

The Academy of Behavioral Finance & Economics offers a dedicated forum for the exchange of research findings and professional advancement related to the field of behavioral finance and economics. This year's conference is ABF&E's largest to date, with more than 100 presentations and related functions and approximately 200 attendees including top behavioral finance and economics researchers and practitioners from around the globe. Renowned scholar and Nobel Laureate in Economics Professor Joseph Stiglitz will be the program's keynote speaker.
Mr. Fisher will chair a session titled "Noise Traders and the Rational Investors: a Comparison of 1990s and 2000s" and be a discussant in two other sessions: "Social Mood, Stock Market Performance and U.S. Presidential Elections: A Socionomic Perspective on Voting Results" and "Investor Sentiment."
