NEW YORK, Sept. 9, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Today Deloitte announced the appointment of Greg Reh as vice chairman, Deloitte LLP, and leader of its national life sciences sector practice. The practice is one of the nation's largest accounting and consultancies covering life sciences with more than 4,000 professionals serving major pharmaceutical, medical device, biotechnology and consumer health care manufacturers.
A principal with Deloitte Consulting LLP, Reh brings to the role significant experiences in both client service and practice management. During the past seven years he has led some of Deloitte's most prominent client engagements in the pharmaceutical sector, including work related to technology strategy and implementation in addition to the assimilation of emerging and disruptive technologies.
His management credentials include serving as the life sciences practice leader for Deloitte's U.S. consulting business and as life sciences leader for Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Limited (DTTL). He will continue in both of these capacities.
"What makes Greg right for this role is his influence within the Deloitte organization combined with his insight into what's happening with life sciences companies in today's marketplace," said Bill Copeland, vice chairman, U.S. life sciences and health care leader, Deloitte LLP. "This sector has an international footprint, and Greg is fluent on the global nature of the issues and opportunities impacting this sector."
Reh will guide the practice to bring Deloitte's cross-sector view to life sciences companies in light of their growing interdependency on other health care sectors around value-based care. He will draw on Deloitte's market-leading providers and plans practices in addition to ConvergeHEALTH by Deloitte, the applied analytics business unit within Deloitte's life sciences and health care practice.
"Life sciences companies today face a whole new set of questions given the rise of digital health, personalized medicines and value-based care," said Reh. "These questions cross over a range of sectors and disciplines that Deloitte is favorably positioned to address given the breadth of our capabilities."
Reh also has significant experiences in the process manufacturing, consumer and government sectors, including a leadership role at a government research lab that designed and developed life support devices. He has a master's degree in organizational dynamics from the University of Pennsylvania, where he has also served as a guest lecturer, and a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Drexel University.
Reh succeeds Homi Kapadia, principal, Deloitte Consulting LLP, who has assumed a managing director role with DTTL, overseeing the organization's portfolio of key clients.
