CompSouth is a non-profit association committed to advancing public policy issues in the Southeast and at the Federal Communications Commission. The association's mission is to be a voice of clarity and action on issues that have an impact on the competitive telecommunications landscape and on its members. These issues include, but are not limited to, access to wholesale local network facilities at reasonable terms and conditions, enforcement by regulators of quality of service performance standards and performance incentive plans, protection of competition and choice for consumers during transitions to new technologies, regulatory oversight that works to ensure ethical marketing and sales practices and improvements in the Incumbent Local Exchange Companies (ILECs) operational support systems that CLECs rely upon to provide service to end-user customers.
"CompSouth's mission is in alignment with ours: to protect the very infrastructure that our customers rely on today and allow the industry to more intelligently transition to the next phase of telecommunications technology," said Vincent M. Oddo, President and CEO, Birch. "We are excited to have a telecommunications veteran such as Mr. Darnell represent Birch in this important industry organization."
