Greer Dickey's Barbecue Pit Brings Santa to Town

GREER, S.C., Dec. 16, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Dickey's Barbecue Pit Greer Franchise Owners, Todd Brents and Bill Friend, will be hosting free photos with Santa Claus at their location this 2-5 p.m. Saturday, December 18th.

"The community has been so supportive and we wanted to do something special for the families here," Brents said. "This is a great way to offer a fun family event for all ages and to give them a Dickey's holiday souvenir."

Santa will be at the restaurant, located at 6001 Wade Hampton Blvd, this weekend to take free photos with the children and to bring everyone holiday cheer.

Dickey's Barbecue asks all Dickey's Owner/operators to reach out in communities in which they do business.

"Dallas has been good to us, so since the 1940s we have made it a point to give back. As we expand the Dickey's brand, we are moving into new communities, such as Greer, South Carolina," Dickey's Barbecue Restaurants, Inc. CEO Roland Dickey said. "We want our Owner/Operators to take the value of community stewardship along with the barbecue to their neighbors and friends. Todd is doing just that with this event."

The first Dickey's Barbecue opened in 1941 in Dallas, TX.

The original location is still open for business and Dickey's Barbecue is still owned and operated by the Dickey Family.

Dickey's only began franchising in 1994, now there are 135 locations in 33 states.

Even today, Dickey's still slow smokes all of their signature meats overnight in every restaurant.
