Greenway Takes Multi-Disciplinary, Interoperable Approach to HIMSS11
In Addition to Solution Demonstrations and Partnership Events, Greenway to Present on Timely Topics of EHR Meaningful Use and Accountable Care
CARROLLTON, Ga., Feb. 10, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Greenway Medical Technologies, Inc. is applying the same multi-disciplinary, interoperable approach it dedicates to product development to its participation at this year's Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) Annual Conference and Exhibition, February 21 – 24 in Orlando, Fla. This year, in addition to exhibiting and presenting at Booth #2430 and in partners' booths throughout the run of the show, and participating in the conference's annual Interoperability Showcase, Greenway® will conduct presentations on the timely topics of EHR meaningful use and accountable care in separate events.
A roundtable discussion entitled "Sharing the Stage: Meaningful Use and Accountable Care," is slated for Monday, February 21 at 4:30 p.m. at the EHR Theater, Exhibit Hall A, Booth #263. The roundtable, moderated by Justin Barnes, vice president of marketing, corporate development and government affairs for Greenway, will focus on how providers can navigate the future of EHR meaningful use as well as the quality and outcomes reporting of accountable care. Results gleaned from a recent Greenway customer survey will be incorporated into the discussion. Participants include: Greg Miller, senior vice president, Medicity; Vincent Frakes, federal policy director, Center for Health Transformation; and Matthew Mervis, M.D., OB & GYN Specialists, PA, Orlando.
"Implementing Care Coordination: Ambulatory and Hospital Systems" is the title of the presentation by Eric Grunden, vice president of Client Services for Greenway, who will discuss implementation of seamless and robust standards-based data exchange along the care continuum. The presentation takes place Tuesday at 4:15 p.m. in the EHR Theater, Exhibit Hall A, Booth #263.
In addition, on Monday, February 21, at 2:30 p.m., the HIMSS Federal Health Community will conduct a site visit at OB & GYN Specialists, a Greenway customer utilizing Greenway's electronic health record, practice management and interoperability solution PrimeSUITE® 2011 and the interactive patient portal PrimePATIENT®. The HIMSS Federal Health Community is a group of Congressional and public health officials, which annually selects innovative practices for hands-on, educational visits during the conference.
Also on Monday, Greenway is hosting a cocktail reception at the unique CityArts Factory Orlando from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. DRIP, an interactive art troupe from Orlando, will provide the entertainment. As space is limited for this event, an R.S.V.P. is required.
Throughout the conference, Greenway will join healthcare organizations working in collaboration to Break the Barriers to Interoperable Healthcare during the HIMSS11 Interoperability Showcase in Booth #7343 in Hall E.
In a demonstration of ONC's Direct Project, Greenway is partnering with Fishkill, NY-based MedAllies, a health information service provider (HISP), to seamlessly route secure patient data in a closed loop consultation from a primary care provider (PCP) EHR to that of a Greenway specialist practice, and back to the PCP.
