Greenphire Gives $35,000 to Health and Wellness Nonprofits
Attendees at this year's annual Drug Information Association Meeting are invited to vote for the nonprofit whose mission most resonates with them
SAN DIEGO and PHILADELPHIA, June 16, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- This year, Greenphire's booth at the 50th Annual Drug Information Association Meeting in San Diego will be anything but business as usual. Rather than strictly highlighting its products and services, this year the leading provider of payment technology for the clinical trial industry is partnering with three nonprofits -- the American Red Cross San Diego/Imperial Counties, NO MORE and Scripps Research Institute -- to raise awareness of the work these organizations do in the fields of health and wellness.
"Greenphire has been attending the annual DIA meeting for many years, but this year we wanted to do something different," said Sam Whitaker, co-founder and CEO of Greenphire. "We decided to drastically cut back the budget we'd spend on a temporary booth and put that money to work with organizations that are making lasting change. We are proud to partner with the American Red Cross, NO MORE and Scripps Research Institute, and we look forward to sharing their inspiring missions with others."
Since its inception, Greenphire has had a presence at the Drug Information Association (DIA) meeting each year. Conference attendees are invited stop by Greenphire's booth to learn more about each organization and vote for their favorite nonprofit. The charity with the most votes at the end of the meeting will receive $20,000 to continue their life-changing work, while the charities with the second and third most votes will receive $10,000 and $5,000 respectively.
This year's Greenphire Gives partners include:
Scripps Research Institute is one of the world's largest, private, nonprofit research organizations. It stands at the forefront of basic biomedical science, a vital segment of medical research that looks to comprehend the most fundamental processes of life. In the decades since it was established, the Scripps Research Institute has established a long track record of major contributions to the betterment of health and the human condition.
