BRANTFORD, Ontario, Dec. 11, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- GreenMantra Technologies, a rapidly growing clean technology company that produces high-value polymer products from waste plastics, has been selected to participate in "Tech for Tomorrow," an invitation-only event hosted by French President Emmanuel Macron on Dec. 11 in Paris.
GreenMantra is one of only 30 clean technology companies from around the world invited to participate in Tech for Tomorrow, which is part of the One Planet Summit, a global meeting occurring on the two-year anniversary of the Paris climate change accord. The company will be displaying its revolutionary new technology that converts plastic waste into specialty polymers that improve the performance of roofing, paving, adhesives, coatings, inks and other product applications. More than 700 representatives from government, investment firms and businesses from around the world are expected to attend.
"We are pleased to participate in this event, along with other leading clean technology companies, to showcase ways in which we can create a more sustainable world," said President & CEO Kousay Said. "Our unique technology is helping to create a circular economy for plastics, where plastic waste is reused to produce new, valuable materials rather than discarded."
The Tech for Tomorrow event is taking place at Station F, the world's largest business and technology campus for start-up companies, located in Paris.
At the event, GreenMantra will display information and discuss its proprietary thermo-catalytic system and patented process that converts waste polyolefin plastic into high-value synthetic polymers and other specialty chemicals. These materials provide specific performance and processing benefits in various commercial applications. GreenMantra's process enables it to utilize a wide range of post-consumer plastic wastes, including hard-to-recycle materials such as plastic grocery bags and film, as raw materials. The company also will showcase its newest technology that converts waste polystyrene, the world's least recycled plastic, into unique styrenic polymers with applications in inks, coatings and other markets.
