Greenberg Traurig's Kurt Kappes Invited to Join Litigation Counsel of America
SACRAMENTO, Calif., April 27, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Greenberg Traurig Litigation Shareholder Kurt Kappes has been selected for fellowship into the Litigation Counsel of America (LCA), an invitation-only trial lawyer honorary society limited to less than one-half of one percent of American lawyers. Kappes was selected and invited into fellowship after being evaluated on effectiveness and accomplishments in litigation and trial work, along with ethical reputation, by the LCA.
Kappes, co-chair of the firm's Labor & Employment Practice's Non-Compete/Trade Secret and Employment Contract Litigation team, practices in the areas of labor and employment, commercial litigation, insurance litigation, products liability, business torts, contract disputes and trade secrets/unfair competition/employee mobility. He is also co-managing shareholder of the firm's Sacramento office.
California's LCA delegation consists of approximately 400 attorneys, judges and legal professionals. According to the LCA, Fellows are generally at the partner or shareholder level or are independent practitioners with recognized experience and accomplishments. The honorary society's purpose is to provide experienced and highly qualified lawyers an outlet for scholarly authorship of legal articles on trial and litigation practice and additional sources for professional development.
A frequent author and lecturer, Kappes is an adjunct professor at the University of California, Davis School of Law and a member of the American Bar Association. Kappes received his J.D. from Northwestern University School of Law and his B.A. from Butler University.
