Greenberg Traurig's Atlanta Office Continues to Grow: Dan Sherman Joins the Atlanta P3, Infrastructure and Economic Development Team
ATLANTA, Aug. 30, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The international law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP announced that Daniel H. Sherman IV has joined its Atlanta office as a shareholder in the firm's Public-Private Partnership, Infrastructure and Economic Development practice. Sherman joins Greenberg Traurig from DLA Piper LLP.
Well known within the metro-Atlanta region for his work on urban infill and large-scale revitalization projects, Sherman will continue to focus on high-profile, transit-oriented developments; the formation and operation of public-private partnerships; brownfield redevelopment; and public infrastructure. He will work closely with Ken Neighbors, a shareholder in the firm's Public Finance and Public-Private Partnership (P3), Infrastructure and Economic Development, as well as the Environmental and Global Energy and Infrastructure practice.
"I am thrilled to work alongside of Ken and Atlanta office managing shareholder Ernest Greer. Their pioneering efforts have led to some of the most innovative P3 finance and project development structures throughout Georgia and the southeast to successfully accommodate the needs of both government and the private sectors," said Sherman. "Greenberg Traurig's depth of experience, cutting-edge resources and entrepreneurial approach to client service are unparalleled in the P3 and infrastructure development arenas."
"The next development cycle will be characterized by bigger, more complex deals that will demand public-private partnership finance and implementation structures in order to succeed," said Neighbors. "Dan's experience in the P3, infrastructure development and governmental relations arena is a perfect fit to help our clients take advantage of what we believe will be a surge of public-private opportunities."
Sherman is the second shareholder to have joined Greenberg Traurig's Atlanta office in the past two weeks. Kurt Erskine, former Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Georgia, joined the firm on August 15th as a shareholder in the White Collar Litigation Practice.
"We are focused on strategically expanding Greenberg Traurig's Atlanta office across practice areas," said Greer, who also co-chairs the firm's Atlanta Litigation Practice. "Dan is a veteran in the P3 and infrastructure space. He will expand our local and national capabilities to address the challenges and opportunities facing communities, governments and businesses today."
