Speakers from Leading Technology, Film, Music and Internet Companies Discuss Negotiating Strategies and Cutting Edge Issues at Sept. 20 Seminar
EAST PALO ALTO, Calif., Sept. 12, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- International law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP is the sponsor of an American Bar Association (ABA) seminar on Sept. 20 that will feature speakers and industry experts from some of the world's leading technology, film, music and Internet companies discussing a host of today's cutting edge issues.
Bobby Rosenbloum, Greenberg Traurig Shareholder and Co-Chair of the firm's Atlanta Entertainment and Media Practice, is serving as chair of the program. Titled "Entertainment Law for Technology Companies: Negotiating Strategies & Cutting Edge Issues," the program will be held from 1:00 to 5:15 pm at the Four Seasons Hotel in Silicon Valley. Greenberg Traurig is co-hosting the event along with the ABA Forum on the Entertainment and Sports Industries, and the firm's attorneys will serve as moderators and panelists for the sessions.
The first session, titled "Internet, Cloud and Social Network Law and Liability Trends Associated with the Use of Entertainment Content in New Media Applications," will be moderated by Ian Ballon,Shareholder from Greenberg Traurig's Silicon Valley office. This panel will focus on the secondary liability for user conduct and content. Panelists include Dan Dougherty, Associate General Counsel, Monster, Inc. and David Anderman, General Counsel, LucasFilm Ltd.
The second session, titled "Amazing Maze: Hot Topics and Trends in Licensing for Digital Music Services" and moderated by Lawrence Kanusher, Shareholder from Greenberg Traurig's New York office, will discuss how digital technology has transformed the media and entertainment industries. Ken Steinthal, Managing Shareholder of Greenberg Traurig's San Francisco office, is the moderator for the final session titled "Cablevision and its Progeny: Recent Case Law Developments and Their Implications for Digital Content Lockers." This panel will address the series of cases starting with Cablevision and include the more recent decisions in MP3 Tunes and Aereo.
