Greenberg Traurig Associate Joshua Oppenheimer Appointed Vice Chair of the City of Albany Redistricting Commission
ALBANY, N.Y., Aug. 20, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Greenberg Traurig, LLP, an international law firm, announced that Joshua Oppenheimer, an associate in the firm's Governmental Affairs Practice in Albany, was appointed Vice Chair of the City of Albany Redistricting Commission by the Albany Common Council.
The commission is comprised of eight members tasked with redrawing lines for the City of Albany's 15 City Council districts for the 2013 elections. According to the Albany Common Council "the reapportionment process is conducted every 10 years after new population figures are released in order to maintain electoral representation."
Oppenheimer focuses his practice on governmental affairs and on issues relating to governmental ethics, lobbying laws and campaign finance. He has experience representing clients before the New York State Legislative and Executive branches, focusing mainly on legislation and regulation involving health, labor, environmental and transportation issues.
