Green School Bali Celebrates 10 Years of Disrupting Education and New Brand Identity
BALI, Indonesia, Sept. 6, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Green School Bali students, staff, faculty, alumni and the local community gathered on Friday August 31st, 2018 to celebrate the official 10th Birthday of Green School Bali at its unique bamboo campus in the jungle of Bali. Green School's Head of Learning Programme, Leslie Medema led the celebration in a special school assembly with over 600 in attendance including Green School Co-Founders, John Hardy (Ted Speaker of 'Green School Dream') and Cynthia Hardy. The non-profit private school first opened its bamboo gates with just over 80 students in September 1, 2008 and has grown with an international following to 490 students from 35 nationalities including 43 Local Balinese Scholars and 360 local Balinese students who come to Green School as part of a community integration program, Kul Kul Connection.
The special assembly included songs, dance, a special tribute to Green School's pioneer families and staff, a time capsule. Marking this special point in time, the new Green School logo was unveiled, with students passing a special bamboo baton, symbolising the generational growth of the school and brand evolution. The new logo is inspired by Green School's iconic bamboo building, known as the 'Heart of School', which is one of the largest pieces of bamboo architecture in the world. Leslie Medema, Head of Learning Programme says, "The new Green School logo and brand identity was evolved to represent all that we have become over the last decade, and all that we will become in the future. The logo represents the three pillars of Green School: Our Purposeful Learning Program, Wall-less Learning Environment and Passionate Learning Community. "
The event was a milestone in a year-long line up of celebratory events for the 10th anniversary, that kicked-off in January 2018 with a special concert by Michael Franti at the Green School campus, 20 minutes from Ubud Bali followed by Sustainable Solutions eco-festival in April on Earth Day.
