Synopsis: |
Simultaneously designing and testing both software and SoC designs before silicon is an enticing goal to reduce the time and cost of building embedded devices. The earlier applications can run on a reliable representation of the SoC, the better. Merging the software and SoC paths before silicon saves time and money and gets the embedded product to market faster. This presentation describes a new pre-silicon continuum for concurrent SoC and software development and verification for safety and security-critical systems, composed of a safety-certified RTOS and advanced C/C++ development tools that continuously support SoC verification from the earliest functional simulator (virtual prototype with Fast Models) through RTL emulation and FPGA prototype stages on the path to first silicon. The continuous convergence brings more safety, security and verified reliability while establishing a more mature software enablement foundation at the time of first silicon. |
Demonstrations in the Green Hills booth
Green Hills Software and Arilou Technologies are demonstrating a vehicle network security controller utilizing intrusion detection and prevention technology, that detects and prevents malicious communication on the CAN. The combined solution enables safety and security-critical applications to be run on the same application processor and thus avoid a second dedicated processor.
Green Hills Software is collaborating with Renesas® and Rightware® on an automotive electronics demonstration showcasing the trusted consolidation of multiple automotive cockpit functions. The combination of safety-certified INTEGRITY® RTOS and its Multivisor™ secure virtualization with the Renesas R-Car H3 automotive processor provide the trusted foundation for a single scalable platform to consolidate multiple cockpit domains concurrently utilizing Linux, Android and RTOS applications, all on the same processor.
