CHICAGO and INDIANAPOLIS, May 1, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The game of golf is in need of a resurgence of participation across the U.S. Indianapolis-based Green Golf Partners (GGP) is entering the spring golf season with a new marketing and communications "driver" in the golf bag with Chicago-based public relations firm Ripson Communications to help them increase engagement at the course level and its communities in which it operates in six states across the country.

GGP is poised to help further a renaissance in the game of golf, bringing decades of experience in golf course management with a portfolio featuring courses including such notable properties as Kemper Lakes Golf Club in Kildeer, Illinois; Osprey Cove in St. Mary's, Georgia; and the Belleview Biltmore Golf Club in Belleair, Florida.
One of the goals of GGP is to make the game of golf more approachable for all generations. Despite the recent excitement and increase in CBS television viewership by 26% on Sunday, April 12th for the Masters win by 21-year-old Jordan Spieth, the game of golf has seen a recent downturn in participation in the U.S. According to the National Golf Foundation and the U.S. Census Department, 29 million people play golf in the U.S. Yet that represents only 9.6% of the total U.S. population. GGP's mission is to help bring fun back into the game of golf through the original form of "social media" – playing a game of golf face-to-face with friends on your local public course or private club.
"Our number one goal and mission is to grow the game of golf at our current courses and through additional acquisitions with a focused brand marketing program," said Green Golf Partners chief executive officer Matt McIntee. "As one of the fastest-growing golf course management companies in the United States, we firmly believe that Ripson Communications can help us communicate our brand and individual golf properties in new and dynamic ways. We are positioned well for growth in the year ahead."
"Green Golf Partners is a company with tremendous opportunity for growth over the next several years," said Chris Comes, executive vice president of Ripson Communications. "I have known Matt for over a decade and have watched him make a huge imprint on the game of golf in the Midwest, Southeast and Southwest. This is a tremendous growth opportunity for our company, and we look forward to introducing more people to the game of golf."
Building on its long heritage and experience in management and operations, Green Golf Partners has focused its efforts on the delivery of world-class management services for an increasingly broad array of third-party clients in a diverse number of national and regional golf markets.
Ripson Communications will assist GGP with the marketing and communications of its brand and its individual golf courses throughout the Midwest and Southeast. The one-year agreement is an expansion for Ripson Communications into a new industry of golf course management for the firm. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
