Green Globe Film Awards 'You Vote, You Decide' Approach a Hit Internationally
HOLLYWOOD, Calif., Feb. 5 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- On February 3rd, 2010 online voting for the Green Globe Film Awards commenced with people around the globe casting their votes and expressing their opinions about which film stars, movies and filmmakers they appreciate most. What makes the Green Globes unique is that the voting is targeted at an international audience with 100 Viewers' Choice Awards being selected by movie viewers from around the world. As the Green Globes are promoted through major news organizations, programs, articles and websites that appeal to the internationally minded, the voters tend to be adults as opposed to other public voting movie award programs that tend to be aimed at teenagers. The international reach of the 100 Viewers' Choice Awards that can be voted for online makes the Green Globe Film Awards one of the most diverse of all of the Hollywood Film Awards. The voters worldwide are excited about seeing their favorite celebrities achieve Hollywood greatness.
"I just voted yesterday," said Grace Lee, a graduate student from Seoul, Korea. "It's exciting that we can have an influence on the results by voting online."
According to Los Angeles-based artist Antonio Pulido, "The people who buy the movie tickets do the voting, and that makes sense. For example, why would the engineers who design cars get to vote on the Car of the Year? Why not ask the drivers and passengers?"
M. Hoque from Dahka said, "The movie viewers and paying customers get to have their say. That's what I like."
Mari Kawaguchi, a secretary from Tokyo, Japan, after seeing an announcement of Green Globe voting on her favorite actor's blog, got so excited that she tried to submit multiple votes. "I want him to win so bad, but after I voted once, it wouldn't let me vote again, so I'm really nervous if he can win."
Cindy Long from Vancouver, Canada, stated, "I don't think peer voting is fair because peers are often jealous of one another and can gang up on others. I love it this way where the fans have the final word."
To vote, go to www.movie-voters.com The awards will be presented on March 23, 2010 at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel in Los Angeles.
