Green Globe Film Awards Nominations for Actors and Filmmakers Announced: Online Voting Commences
LOS ANGELES, Feb. 4 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- This week has turned out to be a busy week for movie lovers with nominations for both the Academy Awards and the Green Globe Film Awards being announced, and the launch of the online voting site for the 2010 Green Globe Film Awards (GGFA) allowing 100 Viewer's Choice Awards to be selected by film lovers, critics and movie viewers from around the world. Awards will be presented to leading major motion picture, environmental, humanitarian, animated and international filmmakers, movies and actors.
To commemorate 2010, special Awards of the Decade will be conferred in various categories including Best Picture of the Decade and Best Director of the Decade. In addition, as the 2010 International Film Category theme is "Asian Films", Asian films are being honored, with Asian entertainment at the 2010 Green Globe Film Awards and Dinner Gala reflecting this theme.
The Grand Sponsor of the event, the Westin Bonaventure Hotel in Los Angeles, will be hosting the Green Globe Film Awards and Emperor's Dreams Dinner Gala on March 23, 2010 in the California Ballroom with a 1,200 person sit-down dinner banquet and surprise performances by Hollywood's and Asia's top entertainers. According to Green Globe Film Awards representative Darrell Nelson, the Bonaventure was selected for its capacity to host the largest dinner gala of any hotel in the state, as well as its history of being one of the most sought after movie locations for filmmakers endeavoring to present Los Angeles in a modern and elegant setting. The event is organized by the Academia Foundation and Anaheim University and sponsors include the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, All Nippon Airways (ANA) and Asiana Airlines.
