BOULDER, Colo., July 21, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Green Chef, the first and leading USDA-certified organic meal kit delivery company, today announced it will work with Ford Warriors in Pink's More Good Days initiative to deliver 1,000 organic meal kits – enough ingredients and recipes for 6,000 nutritious meals – to breast cancer patients and caregivers across the country.
The More Good Days initiative is designed to help those affected by breast cancer with everyday tasks that can seem overwhelming when faced with this devastating disease. Ford Warriors in Pink chose to collaborate with Green Chef because of the latter company's commitment to making everyday eating healthy, easy and delicious.
A recent nationwide survey commissioned by Ford Warriors in Pink found that maintaining daily routines while going through treatment is a concern for 83 percent of breast cancer patients – second only in importance to life expectancy (86 percent). Together, Ford Warriors in Pink and Green Chef aim to deliver the satisfaction and comfort of a home-cooked meal – without the extensive planning, shopping and preparation that often comes with it.
"Breast cancer disrupts every aspect of a person's life. Daily routines and tasks like planning and preparing meals or going to the grocery store can quickly become an unyielding burden for patients and their families," said Michael Joseph, CEO and founder of Green Chef. "As someone who's lost family to the disease, I know there are good days and bad days. Green Chef is honored to support those affected by breast cancer by providing nourishing meal kits."
